The number one rig inspection course fully accredited by IADC. Covering drilling, lifting equipment, well control power plant and safety on drilling rigs both on- and offshore which teaches the inspection and maintenance procedures required to ensure equipment integrity.
Candidates will learn to implement the relevant standards and understand industry requirements so that they can verify the condition of a rig’s equipment and improve safety, thus reducing the number of accidents and protecting the asset.
The Rig Equipment Inspection course deals with the most common equipment deficiencies and recurring problems. It describes & explains the working principles of major drilling equipment using detailed examples from our technical inspection database.
Training Objectives:
- Independently carry out a basic (visual) rig inspection
- Identify major items that may impact safety and operational capability of drilling rigs
- Recognize the indicators of the overall condition of a drilling rig
- Understand the basics of EX equipment installed in hazardous areas
- Evaluate the maintenance and inspection procedures on the rig to identify compliance with good working practices and industry standard
- Describe the main criteria and main items of rig equipment including draw works, top drive or rotary table
- Recognise indications of overall drilling rig condition and maintenance status
- Identify standards used in the drilling industry (e.g. API) and their application to drilling equipment
- Introduction to Rig Inspections and equipment measurements
- Identify rig equipment and understand safety principles
- Understand operational rig systems

Assessment Requirement
Participants are required to achieve 100% attendance. Assessment for this course consists of a written posttest focusing on Advanced Rig Inspection principles and application, with a minimum passing score of 75%. Participants who reach a score of at least 75% will receive a certificate of completion.
