FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

IWCF (International Well Control Forum) Certification is the global standard for well control competency in the oil and gas industry. It validates that personnel have the knowledge and skills to prevent, detect, and respond to well control incidents including blowouts. Certification is mandatory for many drilling and well intervention roles worldwide.

IWCF certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue. After this period, certificate holders must undergo refresher training and re-assessment to maintain their certification status. This ensures that personnel remain up to date with the latest well control practices and procedures.

Prerequisites vary by level. Level 2 requires basic drilling knowledge and workplace experience. Level 3 requires a valid Level 2 certificate and additional field experience. Level 4 requires a valid Level 3 certificate and significant supervisory experience. Each candidate must also provide proof of relevant work experience.

The IWCF examination consists of both theoretical (written) and practical components. Written exams include multiple-choice questions and calculation-based problems. Practical assessments for Level 4 include simulator-based exercises where candidates must demonstrate well control decision-making under realistic conditions.

IWCF Accredited Training Centre No. 1700 is our official centre identification number issued by the International Well Control Forum. It means our facility, instructors, curriculum, and equipment have been audited and approved by IWCF to deliver certified well control training programs according to IWCF standards.

Yes, many of our training programs are available in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Our training materials, examinations, and instruction can be delivered in Indonesian to ensure full comprehension. Please check the schedule for language availability for each specific course date.

IWCF Well Control (Drilling) focuses on well control during drilling operations, covering BOP equipment, kick detection, and well kill methods for drilling crews and supervisors. IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control (WIPC) focuses on pressure control during well intervention operations such as wireline, coiled tubing, and snubbing, with specialized modules for different intervention techniques.

WIPC Level 3 and 4 offer specialist modules including Wireline Operations, Coiled Tubing Operations, Snubbing Operations, and Subsea Intervention. Candidates can select modules relevant to their specific well intervention role. Each module includes specialized equipment knowledge, pressure control procedures, and hands-on exercises.
