IADC WellSharp is the International Association of Drilling Contractors’ globally recognized well control competency program. It is widely accepted by major oil and gas operators worldwide and is required for drilling and well servicing personnel across all roles.
Awareness and Introductory certificates are valid for 5 years. Driller, Supervisor, and specialist Well Servicing certificates are valid for 2 years. Renewal requires a refresher or re-certification assessment before expiry.
Surface Stack certification covers well control for land rigs and platform rigs with surface BOP configurations. Combined Surface & Subsea covers both surface and subsea BOP systems, required for offshore drilling operations on floating rigs with subsea wellheads.
The IADC WellSharp exam is an online proctored assessment with multiple-choice questions drawn from a database of over 3,300 entries. Driller and Supervisor courses also include a practical simulator assessment. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
WellSharp Drilling Operation courses are designed for personnel on drilling rigs — covering BOP equipment, kick detection, and well kill methods for drilling operations. WellSharp Well Servicing courses are for personnel performing well intervention activities such as wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing, and workover operations on producing or completed wells.
Start with the Well Servicing Introductory course if you are new to well servicing. Then choose the specialist course that matches your role: Wireline, Coiled Tubing, or Snubbing. The Workover Course is for workover rig personnel, and the Operator Representative course is for company men and well engineers overseeing operations.
Yes, we offer IADC WellSharp training in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, delivered by IADC-certified instructors with extensive field experience in Indonesian and international operations.
The Introductory course requires basic oil and gas industry experience. Driller-level courses require a valid Introductory certificate or equivalent experience. Supervisor-level courses require a valid Driller certificate and significant supervisory experience in drilling or well servicing operations.
