Course Objectives: 

The trainee is assessed on the importance of permit to work system in the workplace by understanding the different types of permits that are needed based on the nature of the work being done. Permits are then described in detail in according to what equipment is needed, who shall be in the scope of the permit and under what circumstances, how it shall be issued, and for how long depending on the scope of the work being preformed. The student shall also be assessed on how to teach this to others by understanding valid presentation skills and underlying the importance of the permit to work system.

  • Understanding what a permit to work is. 
  • Steps to the permit to work system.  
  • Importance of the permit to work system in dangerous environments. 
  • How to allow workers to abide by the Permit To Work System. 
  • Understand the roles of responsibilities of workers in a permit to work system.  
  • Understand when the permit is issued. 
  • Understand when the permit is cancelled.  
  • Understand what controls are needed to sustain the conditions of a safe permit to work area.  
  • Understand the warning signs which indicate danger in permit to work.  
  • Understand which PPE can be used in a permit to work system depending on the environment.  
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of different staff in a permit to work system.  
  • Understand how to evacuate during an emergency.  
  • Understand how to preform first aid or who to call for medical assistance.  

 

Certificate:  

Upon successful completion of the course, learners receive Alam AlSahara Permit To Work course completion certificate, valid for two years.

Assessment Requirement 

Participants are required to achieve 100% attendance. Assessment for this course consists of a written post‑test with a minimum passing score of 75%. Participants must reach at least 75% to be awarded a certificate for this course.
