FAQ
IWCF training is open to personnel involved in drilling and well operations. Candidates may enroll directly in the certification level most relevant to their current position and responsibilities, including Level 3 and Level 4. While previous certification at a lower level is not mandatory, relevant operational knowledge and industry experience are strongly recommended to support effective learning and assessment performance.
IWCF Level 2 are valid for 5 years and for IWCF Level 3 and 4 certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue. After this period, certificate holders must undergo refresher training and re-assessment to maintain their certification status. This ensures that personnel remain up to date with the latest well control practices and procedures.
There are no formal prerequisites for IWCF training. Participants are required to obtain an IWCF Candidate Registration (CR) Number before attending the course.
The IWCF examination consists of both theoretical (written) and practical components. Written exams include multiple-choice questions and calculation-based problems. Practical assessments for Level 4 include simulator-based exercises where candidates must demonstrate well control decision-making under realistic conditions.
IWCF Accredited Training Centre No. 1700 is our official centre identification number issued by the International Well Control Forum. WIPC Level 3 and 4 offer specialist modules including Wireline Operations, Coiled Tubing Operations, Snubbing Operations, and Subsea Intervention. Candidates can select modules relevant to their specific well intervention role. Each module includes specialized equipment knowledge, pressure control procedures, and hands-on exercises.
