productivity, and safety.
The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) offers Well Intervention Pressure Control certification, focusing on three main categories: Wireline, Coiled Tubing, and Snubbing.

As an IWCF Primary Center in Indonesia, PT Neotek Inovasi Global provides internationally recognized IWCF Well Intervention training and certification with updated standards and simulation-based learning.

1. Wireline

Wireline operations use a steel or electrical cable to lower tools into a live well for maintenance, data logging, or recovery.
There are two main types of wireline:

  • Slickline – used for mechanical operations such as setting or pulling plugs and valves.

  • Electric Line (E-Line) – used for logging, perforation, and tool control with electrical signals.

The IWCF Wireline Well Intervention training at Neotek Inovasi Global covers pressure control equipment such as stuffing boxes, lubricators, and well barrier systems to ensure operational safety under pressure.

2. Coiled Tubing

Coiled Tubing (CT) involves inserting a continuous steel pipe into a well under pressure using a large surface reel.
It’s commonly used for:

  • Well cleanout and sand removal

  • Acid stimulation

  • Nitrogen lifting

  • Circulation and fishing operations

During IWCF Coiled Tubing courses at Neotek, participants learn about BOP stacks, strippers, and lubricators, emphasizing real-time well pressure control and operational integrity.

3. Snubbing

Snubbing is the process of running or pulling tubulars in a live well using hydraulic power.
This technique is necessary when the well pressure is too high for standard wireline or coiled tubing operations.

The IWCF Snubbing Well Intervention course includes:

  • Hydraulic Workover Unit (HWU) components

  • Pressure control stack configurations

  • Well barrier management principles

  • Emergency shutdown systems and safety procedures

Why IWCF Well Intervention Certification Matters

Earning an IWCF Well Intervention certificate (Wireline, Coiled Tubing, or Snubbing) demonstrates technical competence and safety awareness in live-well operations.
It is often a mandatory qualification for professionals in drilling and well service companies worldwide.

As an IWCF Primary Center, Neotek Inovasi Global conducts weekly IWCF training sessions for Well Intervention programs, combining classroom theory, simulations, and accredited assessments.
